WWO Vietnam

Our programs in Vietnam have grown thoughtfully and substantially since 2004, when we responded as the first non-profit organization to bring antiretroviral medication for children living with HIV into orphanages.

WWO Vietnam

Since 2004, WWO responded as the first non-profit organization to bring antiretroviral medication for children living with HIV into two Vietnam orphanages. By 2008, with newly established PEPFAR funding, we added more intensive and comprehensive interventions for orphans and for community children in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces.

Today, we continue to increase our reach to support disadvantaged children from all walks of life in Vietnam. We work in partnership with more than 30 institutions and schools in 11 cities and provinces of Vietnam.

Impact in Vietnam

For nearly 20 years - we have served more than 40,000 children and adults in Vietnam’s most challenged provinces. While our work has been comprehensive, there is still more work to be done. Learn more about our impact and our plans for for the future.

Programs in Vietnam

  • Element of Play®

We opened our first Element of Play® program learning space in 2014. Since then dozens of Learning Spaces have opened, reaching from Northern to Southern Vietnam, and providing early childhood programming for more than 4,500 children and families. We continue to provide training and enrichment for local teams and caregivers to ensure sustainable results.

  • Skills Development

With the passage of time, children in our programs have grown and begun to face new challenges as young adults. Our programs assist those who are ageing out of group homes and centers. We have developed a support system for more than 1,000 at-risk adolescent and youth that prepares them for young adulthood.

  • Camp Colors of Love

In Vietnam, Camp Colors of Love (CCL) activities are designed to teach children living with serious illnesses life-skills, interpersonal-skills, healthcare knowledge, and to renew their resilience and sense of hope in the most exciting and creative ways. Held outside of Ho Chi Minh City, children have the chance to explore, grow and play.
