We are delighted to announce the launch of WWO Canada, our first official chapter outside the United States. The opportunity to create WWO Canada was made possible by a generous lead donation of $200,000 from RBC Dexia Investor Services.
Through its lead sponsorship, RBC Dexia is laying the foundation for WWO to bring its vitally important work with orphaned children to Canada. In addition to its financial donation, RBC Dexia is contributing to WWO through the ongoing volunteerism of its employees.
The primary focus for WWO Canada in 2008 will be on development of our Early Intervention – or “granny” - programs. These programs address many of the issues institutionalized children face (including failure to thrive, developmental and language delays, attachment disorders) by pairing each child with one caring, loving adult. WWO currently provides Early Intervention programs in Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and Vietnam.
